A great week of individual training for the squad, with the team working hard on their personal fitness. Continuing to strive for a fitter body, mind and spirit.
In the Sunderland Samba 5k challenge, the competition is hotting up. On the leaderboard we had another new entry with Andy Gale posting a competitive first time of 23:37. Whilst, we also had improvements in times from Tunde, Alex and John. Additionally, many of the other lads continued to push and build their fitness with bike rides, hill sprints and some shorter 3k runs.
At the top end of the 5k table, we also saw improvements from the current top three runners. Scott Hunter took the lead on the board considerably improving his time down to 21:22 in what was only his second run in the competition. An early favourite potentially. As the week progressed we also saw an improvement from Nathan Dodd, who took another 2 seconds off his best time, completing the 5k in 21:24.
However, the week ended with Chris Laws top of the 5k challenge table after posting a PB time of 21:04. An improvement of 13 seconds on his previous best. Throughout the table the competition is growing, and importantly the lads are continuing to improve their physical and mental fitness ready for the new season.
Lets see what next weeks table brings. FORZA SAMBA
